The Com2Us Collection: Chronicles of Inotia: Legend of Feanor

Chronicles of Inotia: Legend of Feanor is a RPG game by Com2Us Corp. $7.99

Chronicles of Inotia is everything I expect in a good RPG. It has quests, levels, multiple worlds, great graphics, lots of challenges and alot of grinding. This last point is an interesting one as some people buy RPG's like this and hate it, but it is 90% of the challenge and 90% of the gameplay. If there was no grinding in games like this they would be over in 30 minutes and you would feel like you wasted that $8. With only a handful of RPG's on the App Store, this one is the only RPG over the $5 price range. Gladly it deserves its price and is easily the best looking and playing RPG out there.

In the graphics department this game could easily sell for $50 or so on consoles like the Nintendo DS. The worlds and creatures are very detailed and easily the best looking ones I have seen for a RPG in the App Store. Instead of the usual feel of just moving a picture around the screen, Chronicles of Inotia adds animation to everything that happens, even if the character is standing still. The controls are easy to use but sometimes lack to get you into playing the game. You tap on the screen where you want to move to and/or pick up items and tap on a enemy to attack them. Apart from the four special skills the attacking is automatic, and earlier on the game seems like a bit bore when you can't actually do anything. The controls, however are an excellent idea and are a great option instead of an in game touch pad.

The game has a full soundtrack that differs for every world that you go into. Each world has a different themed music track that I found gets darker and darker as you go into the game. I love variety in games, especially if you will be playing it for over 10 hours! Great idea multiple music tracks is.

The game is as mentioned above, a true RPG. What I expected from this game was fighting, levelling up, complete a quest then repeat it all over again. To be honest I am a sucker for RPG's, owning Vay, Dungeon & Hero, Perilar and this on the iDevice and countless more on the PC and GBA. This game completes the feel of a console RPG with 20+ hours of fun to be had in two difficulty levels. A believeable storyline is in place during the whole game, which makes you feel like you actually achieved something when you found the Wizard in the Forest. What I like most about this game is that there is a place in the game for everyone. New players can start on easy and find a nice challenge while experts can do the same on hard. There are quests you must do to advance in the game to finish and get more quests. These aren't handed on a platter to you either, some quests involve you to search around just to find the person who is going to give you the quest. The quests are interesting and usually involve levelling up once or twice to be able to complete it. Each world is available for you to go to at anytime, but as you progress further the enemies get stronger and it is recommended to level up beforehands. Dropped items such as swords and potions can be found on most worlds either randomly or by being dropped by killed enemies. These can be sold by in tents on each world with traders or used.

This game is a heap of fun but I find that it would only appeal to a certain type of gamer. Those who enjoy grinding games and RPG styled adventures, then this will be a great game for you. If you aren't sure whether you are interested in RPG's then I recommend that you buy one of the cheaper RPG's. I really enjoyed this game and in my opinion this game is worth alot more. Seriously consider checking this game out, you won't regret buying it!

Gameplay- 9.5/10
Graphics- 9/10
Sound- 8.5/10
Overall- 9/10

I would recommend this game if you enjoyed- Dungeon & Hero
